However, it seems no set photo has set the internet ablaze more than the first look at David Corenswet’s suit in action. DC fans have been sharing their reactions across the net, with most posts being overwhelmingly positive about the iconic costume.
It’s good to see that the internet is reacting well to David Corenswet’s first costume in the DC Universe. A lot is riding on Superman, with literally an entire franchise’s future depending on the success of this film. However, it seems that not everyone is a fan of the new direction of this suit.
David Corenswet’s Suit Gets Backlash
While most posts have praised the costume’s vibrant colors and simple aesthetic, it hasn’t sat right with every fan. Some claim that David Corenswet’s suit looks more like a cheap cosplay, and that Henry Cavill had a much better costume in Zack Snyder’s DC Extended Universe.
There’s no doubt that Henry Cavill had an absolutely fantastic costume as the Man of Steel. However, David Corenswet’s suit also deserves praise in going into an entirely new direction. In truth, it seems the divide in reactions to the suits is reflective of a divide between old and new fans of the DC Universe. Let’s just hope the split isn’t so big that both franchises sink!
