DC Celebrates Earth Day With A New Look At DCU’s ‘Swamp Thing’

DC Swamp ThingDC Comics has taken part in the famous Earth Day celebration by sharing a brand new look at DC Universe’s Swamp Thing.

DC Universe has been hitting it out of the park with its exclusive shows like Titans, Doom Patrol, and the third season of Young Justice along with many other film and television programs available. One of the most anticipated shows for the exclusive streaming service from DC includes a take on DC’s Swamp Thing. Swamp Thing is a plant-based creature with the mind of the scientist Alec Holland after suffering some life-sustaining injuries. Swamp Thing has superhuman strength and can control plant life on the planet. A protector of both humans and the environment there is no better hero for Earth Day than Swamp Thing.

DC’s Swamp Thing appears to bring the grotesque creature to life in the new television show exclusive to the streaming service. So far reactions to Swamp Thing‘s look have been good with many approving of the character’s appearance. The show has been filming in the swamps of Louisiana to help capture the essence of the famous DC character. Even though there have been recent reports of the show being shortened there appears to be a lot of passion put into DC’s next project.

Here is the official synopsis for Swamp Thing:

When CDC researcher Abby Arcane returns to her childhood home of Houma, Louisiana, in order to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, she develops a surprising bond with scientist Alec Holland — only to have him tragically taken from her. But as powerful forces descend on Houma, intent on exploiting the swamp’s mysterious properties for their own purposes, Abby will discover that the swamp holds mystical secrets, both horrifying and wondrous — and the potential love of her life may not be dead after all.

Swamp Thing stars Crystal Reed as Abby Arcane, Maria Sten as Liz, Henderson Wade as Matt Cable, Jeryl Prescott as Madame Xanadu, Virginia Madsen as Maria Sunderland, Will Patton as Avery Sunderland, Jennifer Beals as an original character created for the series, Andy Bean as Alec Holland, Kevin Durand as Jason Woodrue, Ian Ziering as Blue Devil, and Derek Mears as the titular creature.

Swamp Thing will premiere on May 31, 2019, exclusively on DC Universe.

IGN has revealed the first official photos from the highly-anticipated Terminator sequel from Deadpool director Tim Miller. The photos offer fans a first look at Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna and Diego Boneta.

Terminator Dark Fate Arnold Schwarzenegger

Deadpool helmer Tim Miller is directing the film from a script written by Billy Ray, David S. Goyer, Justin Rhodes, Josh Friedman, and Charles H. Eglee. The script was developed in a writers room to stand on its own while simultaneously forming an overarching storyline for what is planned to be a new trilogy of movies.

Dark Fate will introduce newcomers Mackenzie Davis and Natalie Reyes, as well as Gabriel Luna (Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) who plays a brand new Terminator in the film. Plot details remain under wraps, but Miller's project is a direct sequel to Judgment Day, ignoring all the other films in the franchise.

The film stars Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes, Diego Boneta, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton, James Cameron returns to the franchise as a producer and conceived the story with Miller and Skydance's David Ellison. Here's the official synopsis:

Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (T-800) return in their iconic roles in Terminator: Dark Fate, directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool) and produced by visionary filmmaker James Cameron and David Ellison. Following the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Terminator: Dark Fate also stars Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, and Diego Boneta.
