If there’s one upcoming suphero film that’s sure to have an incredible art book worth owning, it’s DC’s Aquaman. The artistry presented in the trailers, from the costumes to the envrionments, from weapons to vehicles, is top notch and totally out of this world. Fans of the pre-production process that goes into filmmaking will be able to get their hands on The Art and Making of Aquaman, which is coming from Insight Editions and can be pre-ordered via their site here, though it apparently won’t ship until December.
You may have to wait until December to see all of the magic inside of that book but no worries, because the front and back cover art have been revealed and they’re certainly not disappointing. SYFY Wire recently interviewed Mike Avila, who wrote the book, and in this interview they unveiled the impressive cover art. Aquaman is releasing in a pretty crowded holiday season. The film will be opening against Mary Poppins Returns & Bumblebee, and will arrive only one week after Mortal Engines, Once Upon A Deadpool, and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse. Hopefully the massive scale and spectacle of DC’s latest solo adventure will be enough to make it king of the box office, but we’ll have to wait over a month to see how that pans out.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding DC’s Aquaman as soon as more information becomes available. Will you be picking up the art book? What’s your favorite art book for a movie? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
