‘Deadpool 3’ Aims To Restart Filming Before Thanksgiving

A quick restart!

It seems as though Marvel Studios is charging full steam ahead with Deadpool 3. The company is looking to fast-track filming to start back up before Thanksgiving.

Deadpool 3 was one of the latest casualties of the SAG-AFTRA strike, with the film ditching its release date in mid-October. However, Marvel Studios looks committed to preventing any further delays to Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s MCU debut, hoping to mobilize the cast and crew to film before Thanksgiving in two weeks.

It’s not likely that Marvel Studios would be able to make up enough ground for Deadpool 3 to keep its original May 2024 release date. However, if filming starts quickly enough, it’s possible the project could swap dates with another MCU movie, Captain America: Brave New World, so it can premiere in July of next year. Regardless, it seems the Ryan Reynolds-led threequel is the studios’ top priority.

Who else is attached to the Deadpool threequel?

Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 after working with Ryan Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project. The upcoming Marvel Studios project also marks a reunion between Levy and Hugh Jackman as the two worked together on Real Steel.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are developing the Deadpool 3 script after penning the first two installments in the series. The Molyneux sisters worked on a previous draft of the project.

Deadpool 3 currently has no release date due to the recently concluded SAG-AFTRA strikes. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
