Rumors have been swirling around that Deadpool 3 is set to have a large impact on the MCU once it finally releases. A new set of insider reports seems to reveal the film’s direct ties to Avengers: Secret Wars.
Ever since Deadpool 3 was announced, it’s been a large point of speculation as to how the film will bring back Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in a way that doesn’t compromise his character’s legacy. According to a set of insiders, the film will revolve around the MCU’s TVA recruiting “prime” versions of characters to fight off Kang in Avengers: Secret Wars:
If true, it’ll certainly be interesting to see which characters the TVA deems as the “Prime version” in Deadpool 3. While there’s little debate Hugh Jackman is the definitive Wolverine, there will certainly be a debate about which characters within or outside of the MCU end up on the team in Avengers: Secret Wars. Though regardless of who does end up on the team, it seems as though Kang has an uphill battle in his quest for multiversal dominance!

Shawn Levy is directing Deadpool 3 after working with Ryan Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project. The upcoming Marvel Studios project also marks a reunion between Levy and Hugh Jackman as the two worked together on Real Steel.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are developing the Deadpool 3 script after penning the first two installments in the series. The Molyneux sisters worked on a previous draft of the project.
