Fans finally get a clear look at the X-Men villains in Deadpool and Wolverine! Newly released concept art reveal incredible redesigns for Toad and Blob.
While most fans were excited to see the returning heroes in Deadpool and Wolverine, one of the most fun parts of the film was spotting which X-Men villains the team decided to bring back for Cassandra Nova’s army. Two of the most iconic of which were Blob and Toad, who serve as staple members in Magneto’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in the comics and films.
The worst part of these X-Men cameos is that it was hard to make out the villains in any scene they were in. Luckily, Senior Costume Illustrator Jonay Bacallado has released a brand new set of concept art for Deadpool and Wolverine. Below is the mock-up created for Toad in the film, as well as what the final product looked like when worn on set by actor Dany Ramos.
Deadpool And Wolverine Redefines The Blob
Joining Toad in Deadpool and Wolverine was The Blob. While one of the most iconic X-Men villains, his design is arguably so generic that even hardcore fans would struggle to pick him out of the crowd. This concept art adds some much needed flair to the character, giving him a flair of color in the boots and hoodie, along with chains to help provide a weapon that isn’t just his body!

Given how recent incarnations of the X-Men have focused a lot on the cosmic side of their rogues gallery, from Apocalypse to the Phoenix, it’s likely that Deadpool and Wolverine may be the last fans see of Toad and Blob for a while. It’s a good thing then that this concept art is some of the best that these characters have ever looked, even if the cameos were a bit hard to spot in the final film!
