Emma Corrin has officially joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe! The newest Deadpool & Wolverine trailer gives fans their first look at the film’s main villain.
Deadpool & Wolverine has managed to keep a surprisingly tight lid on when it comes to its main villain, played by The Crown star Emma Corrin. While fans got a glimpse of them in the last trailer, the newest set of footage reveals the true first look at the character in their crusade against the MCU.
While the trailer itself never confirmed who exactly this character was, it’s clear that Emma Corrin will be playing the villainous Cassandra Nova in Deadpool & Wolverine. This makes her perhaps the most powerful villain either hero has ever faced off against, if the skull of Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man wasn’t already a clear giveaway regarding her strength.
The Story Of Cassandra Nova
Cassandra Nova has one of the most interesting origin stories of any Marvel villain. The character is the evil twin sister of Professor X whom he seemingly killed in the womb after sensing her evil aura. She survived, hiding as a clump of cells in a sewer before swearing her revenge against the X-Men, and now, the heroes of Deadpool & Wolverine.
Cassandra Nova has all the powers of Professor X without any of the moral or physical barriers that keep him from being a villain in the main X-Men comics. She’s seen easily dispatching Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine in the sneak peek, teasing an uphill battle against her in Deadpool & Wolverine. And given she seems to have her own team of villains at her beck and call, it may take an army to stop her!
Deadpool and Wolverine is currently expected to be released on July 26, 2024. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
