Marvel has a historic hit on their hands with Deadpool and Wolverine. The return of Hugh Jackman as his iconic hero alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth has created a movie that is smashing every box office record before it. However, the reviews haven’t been as kind as some might expect, with Rotten Tomatoes giving it a shockingly low score.
As red carpet debuts and reactions to early screenings culminate in reviews across the internet, Deadpool and Wolverine has landed on Rotten Tomatoes with a shocking 81% critic score. This is the loweest the franchise has ever gotten, with the first Deadpool landing an 85% and Deadpool 2 landing at a similar 84%.
Deadpool And Wolverine Rock The Box Office
Luckily, the Rotten Tomatoes reviews can’t seem to keep Deadpool and Wolverine down for long. Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds are set to dominate the box office their opening weekend, with Fandango announcing the Marvel film as their best ticket pre-seller of 2024.
Current projections put Deadpool and Wolverine as one of the most successful opening weekends of all times, even in spite of the reviews. The film is set to have a $360 million dollar box office globally, with around $170 million of that coming from domestic theaters. As waves of fans pour in to support Marvel’s newest movie, the tide may turn against Rotten Tomatoes’ current standing.
