The costumes in Deadpool & Wolverine just keep getting better! A new standee and statue set for the film give fans a better look at their iconic suits.
Fans have been waiting for literal decades to see Hugh Jackman don Wolverine’s iconic cowl. While leaks have seemed to suggest he’ll finally get the chance to wear it in Deadpool & Wolverine, official looks at it have been sparse to non-existent. Luckily, a new statue set for the film created by Japanese company Kotobukiya has given fans their best look yet at the costumes.
It’d be easy to confuse the suits on these statues to be ripped straight from the comics. However, these truly are the costumes Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds will don in Deadpool & Wolverine. Everything from the fins on Wolverine’s cowl to Deadpool’s animated eye is perfect. Marvel even managed to make the logos look better!
Deadpool Breaks The Mold In New Theater Standee
These statues aren’t the only promotional material for Deadpool & Wolverine to drop recently. Standees have started to make their way out into theaters, giving fans crystal-clear looks at the entirety of their costumes. The one seen below features two cheeky poses that really show off the personality of the characters.
It’s not surprising to anyone to see Ryan Reynolds seductively leaning over on the standee for Deadpool & Wolverine, nor is it even surprising to see Deadpool holding the ampersand in the logo. However, the specific pose Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine is in seems to be a reference to the Pixar lamp, with him standing perfectly upright in front of the “I.” It seems even his stoic nature can’t keep him out of the joke!
