Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds recently praised working with Disney and Marvel on the Merc with a Mouth’s future.
Following Disney’s acquisition of Fox, fans were desperate to know what the future held for Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and if he could appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at some point. According to the star himself in recent interviews, he’s been working closely with Disney and Marvel to find Deadpool’s home going forward. Reynolds recently told Jimmy Fallon that he’s excited to see where the hero ends up.
During the interview, the Deadpool star explained that he sees “infinite possibilities” for Wade’s place with Disney and Marvel, explaining that get if he got to star alongside other notable Marvel heroes it could be “explosive and amazing”. The star was also careful to mention that even if a future appearance doesn’t involve the MCU that he’d still be excited to return to the role.
“Deadpool was Fox and now it’s in the hands of Marvel over there at Disney. I see infinite possibility in either version. If Deadpool were to be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I think it would be explosive and amazing. What a sandbox to play in. If Deadpool continued to get to just do his own thing and be his own thing, also just infinite possibilities.”

Ryan Reynolds previously confirmed that he is working on a Deadpool sequel with Marvel Studios. However, there has been no official word on where the third Deadpool film might fit into Marvel Studios’ Phase 4 or 5 plans.
