Jessica Jones is finally making her return in Daredevil: Born Again! The first details about her role in the series have been revealed by a Marvel executive.

Ever since it was revealed that Jessica Jones would be making her long-awaited return in Daredevil: Born Again, fans have been frothing at the mouth to discover any details they can about the heroine’s role in the series. Sadly, despite season 2 having had quite a bit of set leaks, details about Jessica Jones have been kept pretty close to the chest.

Luckily, it seems that Marvel is (for once) taking pity on Jessica Jones fans. TV and streaming executive Brad Winderbaum spoke with Entertainment Weekly about Daredevil: Born Again season 2 while at New York Comic-Con (via The Direct). During the conversation, the producer was rather upfront about why they wanted Jessica Jones to return.

“The first and best idea was to bring Krysten back and to have her be part of this resistance that Matt is trying to build in the midst of a lot of obstacles in duress in Fisk’s New York.”

Marvel Hopes To ‘Change’ Jessica Jones

Brad Winderbaum spoke quite a bit about the history and return of Jessica Jones at the convention, continuing on his thoughts with Brandon Davis on the Phase Hero podcast. While there, he teased that the gap between when Jessica Jones first met Daredevil to their reunion in Daredevil: Born Again season 2 may seed some interesting changes to their dynamic.

“There’s a time gap between the last time we saw them together and this new show, and that really helps us because we get to reintroduce and reestablish everyone and a new status quo, and everything that entails. There are some things that will always stay the same, but there are obviously changes and surprises.”

Of course, given the Jessica Jones series ended with the detective finally accepting her role as a hero, it’s likely that she’ll be much more active in helping Matt fight injustices in Daredevil: Born Again. Though, with the headspace Matt is in going into season 2, she may actually end up being the more level-headed one!

Daredevil: Born Again is now streaming on Disney Plus, with season 2 set to release in March 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
