Some new fan art has emerged online showcasing what it would look like of Pikachu suited up as the Merc With a Mouth, Deadpool.
Fans definitely recognized Ryan Reynolds’ signature wit and charm when they heard Pikachu speak like a human for the first time ever in the new Detective Pikachu trailer. Honestly, it felt like the Merc With A mouth had been turned into a yellow mouse thing. But it was just Reynolds voicing the beloved Pokemon. Now, Bosslogic has created an awesome piece that imagines Pikachu as Deadpool. You can check out the artwork below.
It looks like he will not need to use Thunderbolt in the next battle. His two pistols should be enough. I’d feel bad for the person attempting to throw a Pokeball at this one. Not sure if they are bulletproof. Either way, this just shows that when Detective Pikachu releases, everyone will probably just be picturing this image the entire time. This isn’t the Pokemon movie everyone wanted but since Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds is in the mix, it could end up being a pretty fun time. The Detective Pikachu movie will lightning strike its way into theaters next year.
Do you think Pikachu could cut it as the trash-talking mutant Deadpool? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
Directed by Rob Letterman, the film stars Ryan Reynolds as the title character, Ken Watanabe, Justice Smith and Kathryn Newton.
Detective Pikachu opens in theaters on May 10, 2019.
