Pirates of the Caribbean Johnny Depp Disney Deadpool

Following the fifth installment of the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Disney is planning to reboot the film series with Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick writing the script.

After being poorly received by critics, Dead Men Tell No Tales went on to earn the lowest box office take in the franchise, managing $172.5 million domestically. According to Deadline, Disney has met with Reese and Wernick and the duo is in talks to write the script for the reboot. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer will return for the project, however, it remains unclear whether or not the studio will bring back franchise lead Johnny Depp, who has played the Jack Sparrow in the previous five films.
