Disney are now pushing Robert Downey Jr. and several of his Avengers: Endgame co-stars for Oscars in a new campaign.
After Avengers: Endame proved to be a success both critically and financially, Disney’s Oscars campaign for the Marvel Studios film now includes Robert Downey Jr. and several of his co-stars for the Best Supporting Actor/Actress awards. When Disney’s Oscars campaign for Avengers: Endgame was first announced, none of the cast were included in the “For Your Consideration” posters for the film, as they focused on the technical talent behind the camera.
Disney’s Oscars campaign is now eyeing Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd and Don Cheadle for the Best Supporting Actor award. While Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan and Brie Larson are all up for Best Supporting Actress. It’s surprising that Disney’s Oscars Campaign hasn’t targeted Robert Downey Jr. or Chris Evans for the Best Actor award — perhaps they think they’ve got more chance in the supporting categories.
