Tracking Board reports that former Ugly Betty star Ana Ortiz has joined the cast of Disney’s upcoming Wreck-It Ralph sequel. Ortiz will reportedly voice a small role in still untitled sequel to the Academy Award nominated film.
Ortiz joins returning cast members John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jane Lynch and Jack McBrayer. Alan Tudyk, who voiced the antagonist King Candy in Wreck-It Ralph, has suggested he may return.
Ortiz’s previous voice work includes Batman: Gotham Knight and Disney Channel’s Elena of Avalor. She has also appeared in films such as Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son and television show such as Lifetime’s Devious Maids.
Set in the world of video game characters, the first Wreck-It Ralph film centered on the title character’s mission to shed his ‘bad guy’ moniker and become a hero. The sequel will reportedly see our hero leave the world of arcade gaming and venture into the Internet.
The film will be co-directed by Rich Moore and Phil Johnson with a script co-written by Johnston and Pamela Ribbon.
