The answer seems to come from a social media user called VariableLace, who has previously leaked concept art for Daredevil: Born Again. While they don’t have art, they do come with a major rumor for Avengers: Doomsday. According to the scooper, Doctor Doom had a wife and son before the events of the movie, suggesting they may be tied to the reason he’s pursuing Steve Rogers.
How Steve Rogers Caused Avengers: Doomsday
This detail may not seem important. That is, until one remembers another rumor suggesting that Steve Rogers’ journey to return the stones in Avengers: Endgame was the genesis point of incursions. If true, it’s likely that Doctor Doom’s wife and son were killed prior to the events of Avengers: Doomsday, and now he’s out for revenge.
This rumor suggests a major upheaval from the source material. Doctor Doom, famously, has never had a consistent wife- and certainly never had a kid. While he has taken a number of children as his ward, such as Kristoff Vernard and even Valeria Richards, tying Steve Rogers to the death of biological family members is certainly setting Avengers: Doomsday up for an interesting new take on the villain.
