Marvel has shared a video of fans reacting to the reveal of the Illuminati in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Now that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been out in theaters for a few weeks, audiences have had the opportunity to meet Earth-838’s Illuminati. They consist of Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor) Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), Blackagar Boltagon (Anson Mount), Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch), Reed Richards (John Krasinski), and Professor X (Patrick Stewart).

Similar to the revelations of certain characters in Spider-Man: No Way Home, the reveal of the Illuminati, particularly Reed Richards and Professor X, was subject to uproarious applause from fans. So much so, that Marvel has now shared a video of audiences reacting to the reveal of the group, which you can watch down below:

No fanbase quite like the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s out there.

Audience reactions to films since Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame in particular have showcased some of the audible moments of excitement amongst fans of the MCU. Sony seemed to further capitalize on that with Spider-Man: No Way Home, and to another extent, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness continued that trend thanks to its fan service moments with characters like those featured in the Illuminati.

It’s safe to say that Marvel has a hold on its fanbase more than almost any other franchise in the world right now. Given that it has both Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness playing in theaters while shows like Moon Knight and the upcoming Ms. Marvel are leaving its stamp on Disney Plus showcase its hold on the popular culture at this time. Just from the audience reaction of the Illuminati alone is a testament to that idea.

Here is the synopsis for the film:

The MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, the Marvel film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stuhlbarg, Rachel McAdams, and Patrick Stewart.
