New ‘Doctor Strange 2’ Spot Teases Wanda’s Growing Power

Wanda's learning what it means to be the Scarlet Witch.

Wanda Scarlet Witch Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness

A new promo for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has arrived, bringing new footage of Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff as she contends with the forces of the multiverse.

The new promo sees Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda and the other principal characters placed in peril as Baron Mordo and forces from across the multiverse close in on them. The spot revisits Wanda apparently in the midst of a rampage, hands and eyes aglow as she forces open a door, appearing monstrous and drenched in blood. Fans are theorizing this may not be blood, but the oil or other fluids from the Ultron drones Wanda is seen decapitating in another promo. Either way, the Scarlet Witch is clearly on the warpath.

In addition to this, there’s more footage of Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda in her new Scarlet Witch attire and a look at her in what might be the Mirror Dimension as it shatters around her. Reality seems to fracture around Wanda, with razor-sharp shards suddenly jolting towards her. It is not clear if Wanda is imprisoned in and under attack in this moment, or if what is shown is the result of Wanda’s own magic being used on her surroundings. Check out the new spot below:

The new promo also sees Benedict Cumberbatch’s echoing his words from Avengers: Infinity War. While Strange, after surrendering the Time Stone to Thanos, told Tony Stark “There was no other way,” in this spot he is heard uttering the words “This is the only way.” Whatever he’s referring to surely bodes ill for the Master of the Mystic Arts and the Scarlet Witch.
