‘Doctor Strange’ Director Shares Cryptic Post That Has Marvel Fans Guessing

Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson has posted a mysterious comic book image on his official Twitter account and some fans believe it could be a tease for a second film featuring the Sorcerer Supreme.

Although Doctor Strange was the among the victims of the infamous Thanos snap, the master of the mystic arts is expected to return in the fourth Avengers film and many hope he will appear in a sequel to his first solo outing. Now, director Scott Derrickson has shared a panel from a Doctor Strange comic that features the titular character in the midst of a cosmic eruption of sorts and yelling, “Yes! I choose the good!”

A Twitter user named @SanctumBlog noted that the panel is from a comic titled What If? Vol.1 #18 “What If Dr. Strange Were a Disciple of Dormammu?, in which the Sorcerer Supreme is a follower of Dormammu but ultimately chooses the oppose him and fight for good. While the post may simply be a reflection of Scott Derrickson’s personal life, some fans are taking the image as a potential tease for a second Doctor Strange film.

Of course, fans will still have to wait to see if and how Doctor Strange will return in Avengers 4.

A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey. Our beloved heroes will truly understand how fragile this reality is and the sacrifices that must be made to uphold it.

Avengers 4 is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 3, 2019.
