A new Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness theory about The Vision pits Benedict Cumberbatch’s Stephen Strange against Scarlet Witch.
Since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to hit theaters after Scarlet Witch’s Disney Plus series WandaVision, with Scarlet Witch also appearing in the Doctor Strange follow-up, many fans are already speculating as to how her role will tie the two together. It’s more than they simply have a similar skillset to one another — and more because The Vision died in Avengers: Infinity War. Fans will remember that Scarlet Witch had to murder The Vision to stop Thanos from getting the Mind Stone, only for the Mad Titan to turn back time and rip the Infinity Stone from The Vision’s head, killing him.
This new theory about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness suggests that Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange will have to fight Scarlet Witch since she blames him for Vision’s death. The theory suggests that since Doctor Strange can’t see past his own death, there are realities in which he died, the Avengers beat Thanos and The Vision survived to be with Scarlet Witch. If she discovers this universe using her own powers in the Multiverse of Madness, it wouldn’t be surprising to see her snap and completely blame Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sorcerer Supreme for The Vision’s death.
