Elizabeth Olsen On ‘WandaVision’ Leading Into The ‘Doctor Strange’ Sequel

Elizabeth Olsen commented on how WandaVision leads into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Marvel Studios Phase’ 4 line-up includes a Disney+ miniseries featuring Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and Paul Bettany’s Vision titled WandaVision. In addition to reuniting the superpowered couple, WandaVision will lead into the anticipated sequel to Doctor Strange with actor Benedict Cumberbatch.

During an interview with MTV News at Disney’s D23 Expo, Elizabeth Olsen commented on how excited she is to work with Benedict Cumberbatch on the Doctor Strange sequel but that she is currently in the dark on exactly how WandaVision will lead into the film. However, Elizabeth Olsen noted that she previously worked with Benedict Cumberbatch on a deleted shot in Avengers: Endgame in which Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch briefly fought side-by-side.

WandaVision centers on Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch after the events of Avengers: Endgame and is believed follow the character after she creates an idyllic world in which The Vision is still alive. The series stars Teyonah Parris as an adult Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, and Kathryn Hahn in an undisclosed role

Meanwhile, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to hit theaters in the summer of 2021 with Benedict Cumberbatch reprising his role as the titular hero. Directed by Scott Derrickson, the Doctor Strange sequel is said to be Marvel Studios first outright horror film and co-star Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch.

WandaVision is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ in the Spring of 2021 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released in theaters on May 7, 2021.
