Domhnall Gleeson Reveals Whether He Would Return To ‘Star Wars’

Could General Hux return?

Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker General Hux Domhnall Gleeson

General Hux actor Domhnall Gleeson recently shared his thoughts on whether he would ever return to the Star Wars franchise to reprise his role from Disney’s sequel trilogy.

Domhnall Gleeson’s General Armitage Hux served as a leader of the military forces of the First Order throughout the Star Wars sequel trilogy. While he was hell-bent on the eradication of the New Republic, Hux clashed with Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren, leading him to ultimately turn traitor in The Rise of Skywalker.

While Disney is yet to unveil any new Star Wars projects set in the era of the sequel trilogy, Gleeson revealed whether he would return to the role of Hux were he ever to be asked back.

General Hux: A Star Wars Story

During a recent interview with The Wrap, Domhnall Gleeson was asked whether he would ever return to Star Wars and the actor confirmed he would gladly play General Hux again.

While the actor admitted it seems unlikely Hux will feature in any future Star Wars projects, he said he felt there was more of the character that could be explored. The Rise of Skywalker saw General Hux killed by Richard E. Grant’s Allegiant General Pryde once his treachery was uncovered.

Asked if he would consider returning to the role of General Hux, Domhnall Gleeson said:

“Of course I would! He was really interesting, and I think there’s a lot I could do more [with him]… I don’t see them making the call. I’m not sure anybody’s clamoring for a Hux sequel or prequel. But yeah, of course. Those movies are amazing.”

With projects like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett exploring the Star Wars galaxy shortly after the demise of the Empire as seen in Return of the Jedi, perhaps Gleeson could return if those or other Disney Plus series ever jump forward to the era of the First Order’s rise to power.

Domhnall Gleeson’s Star Wars co-star John Boyega, who played Finn in the sequel trilogy, also recently discussed a potential return to the franchise. However, Boyega revealed he’s not interested in reprising the role of Finn at the moment.

Domhanll Gleeson’s General Hux was last seen in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Here is the official synopsis for the film:
