Fans have been begging for more of Dune ever since the first film released, with the sequel only increasing the craving. Luckily, Dune: Prophecy is here to deliver. The first teaser trailer for the Max series gives fans a look at the Imperium that they’ve never seen before.
Set 10,000 years before the events of the Dune films, Dune: Prophecy focuses on the rise of two Harkonnen sisters as they attempt to establish a new web of influence throughout the galaxy. This would lead to the formation of the Bene Gesserit, who serve as some of the most influential players in the franchise. The series will release this fall on Max.
The Future Of The Dune Franchise
If this teaser trailer is to be belived, Dune: Prophecy is set to fill in many of the questions fans had about the Bene Gesserit and the history of the Imperium. The Max series will also likely show the organization’s corruption, going from one assisting the Houses to one that wishes to control them.
However, Dune: Prophecy isn’t the only project left in the franchise. It’s been confirmed that Dune Messiah is now in development. While not the final book in Frank Herbert’s series, it’s set to be the final installment helmed by director Denis Villeneuve, serving as the capstone to the story fans have grown to know and love.
