Last month, Dwayne Johnsone opened up about his connection to the role of Black Adam. “Intense week of production continues as we put the finishing touches on Black Adam. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of playing some great (fun) characters over the years, but none speak to my DNA more than this antihero known as the man in black, Teth Adam,” Johnson said at the time of the film’s reshoots.

Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam finally gets his own movie

For many years, Dwayne Johnson has been attached to the role of Black Adam for DC. There were initially plans to have the character appear in the Shazam! movie, before it was ultimately decided to split the characters into their own flicks to further expand their origins.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson as the titular antihero, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui are also on board in supporting roles.

Black Adam will hit theaters on October 22nd, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the upcoming DC film, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
