Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson broke down why his anti-hero can defeat Superman.

A lot has been said about how Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam will change the hierarchy of the DC Universe forever. Superman is one of the most powerful characters in the franchise, making him a menacing foe to go up against in any situation. That is until now. In the wake of the first scene from Black Adam being revealed at DC FanDome, Dwayne Johnson broke down why his anti-hero can defeat and potentially kill Superman.

When told on Twitter by a reporter that Superman is probably the only character in the DCEU to stop Black Adam, Dwayne Johnson responded by listing the reason why his big bad can defeat the Son of Krypton.

The opening scene teased at DC FanDome showed Black Adam literally eviscerating his enemies, catapulting him to the top of the list of people you don’t want to mess with in the DCEU. Seeing as Johnson is pretty confident that his character can defeat Superman, it would be interesting to see a showdown in the near future, perhaps with Henry Cavill back in the role?

In addition to Dwayne Johnson, the film stars Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui are also on board in undisclosed roles. Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions are producing the movie with Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo. FlynnPictureCo’s Scott Sheldon serves as an executive producer.

Black Adam is set to hit theaters on July 29, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the highly-anticipated Dwayne Johnson film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original content.
