A new poster for Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam declares “The time of heroes is over,” showing the antihero seated in his own throne.

Dwayne Johnson’s DC debut is drawing closer, with Black Adam scheduled to land in theaters in one month’s time. Johnson is once again hyping up the movie with a brand new poster, which shows his Black Adam seated on a throne, ready to bring Earth’s heroes to an end.

Alongside the new poster marking a month until Black Adam‘s release, Dwayn Johnson has promised a “new era of the DC Universe” is about to begin.

‘The Time Of Heroes Is Over’

Dwayne Johnson took to Twitter to share the new Black Adam poster, which features a new image of his antihero atop a throne – presumably the seventh throne seen at the end of 2019’s Shazam!.

Black Adam will introduce Dwayne Johnson’s Teth-Adam opposite both the Justice Society of America and the demonic Sabbac (Marwan Kenzari). While he is expected to clash with both at different points in the movie, what is not clear is whether Black Adam will end up a hero or villain.

Check out the new poster, shared by Dwayne Johnson, below:

While the throne in the above poster appears to be a callback to Shazam!, there has so far been no word on when, or if, Black Adam and Shazam will cross paths on screen. Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be DC’s next film release in 2023, so perhaps something is on the horizon beyond that.

Here is the synopsis for Black Adam:

“Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.”

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a script written by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, the DCEU film stars Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan.

Black Adam opens in theaters on October 21, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more original video content.
