Hobbs and Shaw star Dwayne Johnson suits up as Black Adam to face Zachary Levi’s Shazam in this cool piece of fan art.
The image of Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam was created by Instagram user “mizuriofficial.” The base of the image is taken from a picture of Dwayne Johnson in the 2017 film Baywatch, featuring the actor walking out of the water. The artist then gave Dwayne Johnson pointy ears and added Black Adam’s costume as well as some additional yellow coloring to simulate a lightning flash to complete the actor’s look as the iconic anti-hero.

BLACK ADAM! @therock ! – Hey all! I saw this dope piece by @spdrmnkyxxiii of Black Adam, so I had a shot at making his suit from an image I found of Dwayne Johnson in Baywatch! This was also good practice, as I rarely make suits like this from scratch’, regardless, hope you like it ! – Follow me for more art and comic/gaming etc stuff! @mizuriofficial
Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam is finally set to begin production in April of 2020. The character was originally set to be the antagonist of Zachary Levi’s first cinematic solo outing as Shazam before the people behind the movie opted to go a different route. Black Adam does not have a release date.
What do you think? Are you excited to see Dwayne Johnson’s take on the role of Black Adam? Should the character have faced Zachary Levi in the first Shaza movie? Sound-off your thoughts in the comments section!
Black Adam is in development at DC Films. The movie will star Dwayne Johnson and will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra. In the meantime, fans can watch Zachary Levi’s first Shazam! film (which features references to Black Adam’s mythology) on all home media formats. Here’s the official synopsis:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.
Shazam! is now available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Dwayne Johnson, Zachary Levi, Black Adam, and the Shazam! sequel!
