Dwight Howard, eight-time NBA All Star and current Center for the Los Angeles Lakers reveals that he purchased a purple car because he was inspired by Avengers villain Thanos.
Dwight Howard appeared on In Depth with Graham Bensinger to show off his 35,000 square feet mansion. During this tour, Dwight Howard showed off a purple Rolls Royce that he has inside his 14-car garage. Dwight Howard told Bensinger why Thanos inspired him to purchase this purple Rolls Royce:
“I got this purple car because of Thanos from The Avengers. He’s my favorite character. He was able to understand that in order for him to complete his mission, he had to get rid of his emotions. That’s the hardest thing we all face.”

It is interesting to see some of the most popular athletes in sports such as Dwight Howard express a love for comic book characters, particularly Thanos in this case. According to Dwight Howard’s reasons for owning the purple Rolls Royce, seeing Thanos make his ultimate sacrifice of his beloved daughter Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War was the ultimate display of achieving his ultimate goal despite the emotional turmoil he will face.
Obviously, rather than wiping out 50% of all living creatures like Thanos through the collection of Infinity Stones, Dwight Howard is more inspired to collect an NBA Championship ring of his own.
