Daredevil: Born Again kicked off with a bang the other night when the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen made his long-awaited return to Disney Plus. However, it seems the creative team took “bang” a lot more literally than many fans may have wanted. While fans have been raving about the two-episode premiere, one decision has broken the hearts of fans around the globe. And that was the choice to kill off Elden Henson’s beloved Foggy Nelson.
However, it seems as though Foggy Nelson may not be gone for good. Marvel’s Brad Winderbaum recently sat down with Brandon Davis to talk about episode 1’s shocking death. While the producer didn’t say much, he did confirm that Elden Henson will in fact return to reprise his iconic role in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, even in spite of his sudden and shocking passing.
“Without going into spoiler territory, I will day that both Deborah [Ann Woll] and Elden [Henson] are coming back for Season 2.”
Will Foggy Nelson Be Born Again In Daredevil?
The idea of Foggy Nelson being confirmed to return in season 2 immediately following his death in Daredevil: Born Again may perplex some fans. The explanation most are jumping to is that Elden Henson may film some flashbacks as the character as Matt Murdock reflects on his past. Though if that were the case, it likely wouldn’t be a substantial enough role to hype fans up this early about.
However, the answer may lie in the seasons before Daredevil: Born Again. Elektra infamously died in season 2 of the Netflix series at the hands of Nobu, before being brought back to life in a mystic ritual. It’s possible that Matt Murdock could try to revive Foggy Nelson in a similar way. Not only would this allow for the series to bring in more connections from the Netflix universe, but it would also give Elden Henson a heck of a lot to chew on as the character in subsequent seasons.
