A new featurette for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness explores Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch and the film’s connections to the Disney Plus series WandaVision.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will see Elizabeth Olsen return as Wanda Maximoff/the Scarlet Witch, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. Olsen was last seen as Wanda in the Disney Plus series, WandaVision, in which she appeared alongside Paul Bettany’s Vision. The Doctor Strange sequel will pick up where WandaVision left off, with Wanda having discovered the incredible true extent of her powers as she mourns the loss of the life she created for herself in Westview.
The new featurette, shared by Marvel Studios on Twitter, includes clips from WandaVision, including Paul Bettany’s Vision asking: “What is grief, if not love persevering?” It’s a moment that may hint Bettany’s Vision could be returning in Multiverse of Madness and it certainly promises that he is still very much on Wanda’s mind. The behind-the-scenes video includes Elizabeth Olsen talking about the move from WandaVision to Doctor Strange, saying “I think WandaVision was this journey of her, for the first time, taking her own life into her own hands and it was fun transitioning from her experience to this movie.” Check out the new video below:
The video also includes Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness director Sam Raimi talking about Wanda’s role, saying “We wanted to satisfy the WandaVision fans and take them to the next level with a character they love.”
