Elizabeth Olsen Still Hasn’t Seen ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’

Elizabeth Olsen's yet to see her latest Marvel appearance!

Wanda Scarlet Witch Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness

MCU star Elizabeth Olsen recently admitted she still hasn’t seen Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, despite appearing in it as the Scarlet Witch.

Elizabeth Olsen entered the MCU in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, where she first played Wanda Maximoff. In the more recent Disney Plus series WandaVision, which was released on the streaming platform last year, her character discovered the secret true origins of her magical abilities, learning that she was a prophesied wielder of Chaos Magic known as the Scarlet Witch. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness saw the Scarlet Witch finally fulfilling her terrifying potential in a more villainous role. It was a major moment in Wanda’s cinematic history, but apparently Elizabeth Olsen hasn’t watched it yet.

Elizabeth Olsen Vs. The Marvel Screener

In a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Elizabeth Olsen was asked about the latest Doctor Strange movie. Fallon pointed out “you haven’t seen it still,” to which Olsen responded “No, I haven’t seen it still!” The actress explained that it was all because of the screener Marvel sent her when she couldn’t attend the premiere.

Elizabeth Olsen recalled that at the time of the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premiere she had a bad cold that stopped her from attending. Instead, Marvel Studios sent her a link to an online screener of the film. However, these screeners come with the recipient’s name watermarked across them in order to prevent any leaks – if the footage gets out, they will know who did it. Olsen explained that she didn’t want to watch the film like that:

“I’m not one of those [actors who don’t watch their own movies]. I’m like one of those people who wants to study something so I can figure out how to make it better…

“I had a cold when we had the premiere and I didn’t want to sit through it… And so I asked them to send me a copy, so I could watch it, and it had my name on it and it had the time that I was watching it, and I didn’t want to watch it like that.”

Olsen laughed about the idea of her downloading and sharing the movie, saying “How do you even do that? Who do you send it to? How do you record it on a computer, what do you do?” When she was then pressed on whether she will appear again in the MCU, the Scarlet Witch actress could only say “I hope so. They don’t tell me anything about my fate!”
