New behind-the-scenes photos from the set of Elizabeth Olsen’s WandaVision offer fans a first look at Kathryn Hahn.
With Elizabeth Olsen’s WandaVision currently beginning its filming cycle, we finally have our first look at one of the new characters who will soon be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kathryn Hahn, best known for her comedic roles in films like Step Brothers, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and Dr. Octopus in Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse, will be joining Elizabeth Olsen in the upcoming MCU television drama WandaVision for the Disney Plus streaming service.
Details on Kathryn Hahn’s character are slim, though we have been told that she plays a nosy neighbour. This would be the perfect role Kathryn Hahn, as she’s always been perfect at playing the oddball opposite straight, serious characters. It’s not hard to imagine the paranoia and nosiness that Kathryn Hahn’s character would exude when confronted by the likes of Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany’s Vision. In fact, seeing as WandaVision is a riff on the sitcoms of yesteryear, it would make complete sense for the lead duo to have a an annoying neighbour that continually disrupts their day. You can see Kathryn Hahn in the photos below.
In the photos, Kathryn Hahn is seen clenching her jacket, hiding away her purple top, presumably her character’s outfit for the episode currently being filmed. Ironically, the purple top is the same color as the head of Paul Bettany’s Vision. While plot details are being kept under lock and key, it has been rumored that the world of WandaVision will be a manifestation of Wanda’s imagination in which Vision is still alive. If that is the case, it would make perfect sense for the nosy neighbour to be the one wearing the same color that once dominated her lover. Only time will tell what exactly Kathryn Hahn’s character’s purpose is when the Elizabeth Olsen series drops in 2021.

WandaVision centers on Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch after the events of Avengers: Endgame and is believed to follow the character after she creates an idyllic world in which Paul Bettany’s Vision is still alive. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige also confirmed WandaVision will lead directly into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will see Elizabeth Olsen reprise her role as Scarlet Witch. The first half of the series is set to take cues from multiple sitcoms over the decades, while the second half is said to be a Marvel blockbuster.
WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff / Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, and Kathryn Hahn as a nosy neighbor.
WandaVision is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus in the Spring of 2021. Stay tuned for the latest news on Kathryn Hahn, Elizabeth Olsen and the Marvel Studios series.
