Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return will take a look at the making of the Disney Plus Star Wars series, with the documentary’s first trailer teasing new clips of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen.

A Jedi’s Return is one of several titles arriving on next month’s Disney Plus Day. The special marks a departure from behind-the-scenes documentaries for previous live-action Star Wars shows The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, which were released under the Disney Gallery banner.

The first trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return was released online today, alongside Disney’s entire slate of Disney Plus Day releases, teasing interviews with stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram and director Deborah Chow.

Star Wars Stars Reflect On The Saga In A Jedi’s Return

The first trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return sees Obi-Wan Kenobi‘s central cast members reflecting on becoming a part of the Star Wars saga.

Excitingly, the trailer reveals a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen training for and shooting their flashback sequence in Obi-Wan Kenobi, which saw the actors taking Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker back to the days of Anakin’s Jedi training, some time prior to Attack of the Clones.

The trailer also features a new look at the series’ virtual sets, brought to life on ILM’s huge LED sound stage, the Volume. This innovative studio was first utilized for the earlier Star Wars series, The Mandalorian.

As well as looking at the making of Obi-Wan Kenobi itself, the trailer for A Jedi’s Return sees the talent behind the series looking back on their experiences of the original Star Wars movies as they consider their role in the franchise.

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi embarks on a crucial mission. Kenobi must confront allies turned enemies and face the wrath of the Empire.

Directed by Deborah Chow from Joby Harold’s scripts, the series stars Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, and Benny Safdie.
