The new action-packed TV spot and trailer for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier set a new record for the Super Bowl.

One of the biggest questions fans had coming out of Avengers: Endgame was when they’d see Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson wield the shield in a new Captain America movie, an Avengers adventure or a new project altogether. Thankfully, audiences won’t have to wait much longer since The Falcon and The Winter Soldier‘s Disney Plus debut on the horizon. The anticipation is so high that the Super Bowl TV spot and the new trailer broke an impressive record.

The exciting new TV spot and trailer for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier offered a look at the excellent dynamic between Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, while also highlighting the return of Daniel Bruhl’s Baron Zemo. And clearly, fans couldn’t get enough – since according to Deadline the TV spot and trailer were viewed 125 million times with 24 hours, a new record for the streaming service. The previous record was 53 million views, held by WandaVision after the Primetime Emmys, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier managed to double that… Impressive.

Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.”

Directed by Kari Skogland from scripts written by showrunner Malcolm Spellman and Derek Kolstad, the series stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker / U.S. Agent. Actors Desmond Chiam, Miki Ishikawa, Noah Mills, and Carl Lumbly have also been cast.
