Fan Claims To Have Come Up With ‘Once Upon A Deadpool’ Idea Last Year

Writer and artist Michael Vincent Bramley believes he deserves credit for Once Upon A Deadpool due to a tweet from last year.

It was a surprise to many fans when Fox revealed they would release a PG-13 Deadpool 2 this Christmas and using Fred Savage as a Princess Bride framing device. Bramley recently brought to light a tweet of his from last year suggesting The Princess Bride framing device idea if Marvel Studios forced a PG-13 Deadpool because of the upcoming Disney-Fox deal:

With Once Upon a Deadpool hitting theaters next month, Bramley went on to tweet about how similar his pitch is to the finished product and shared an article of Ryan Reynolds saying he came up with the idea for the film months after his tweet:

Once Upon a Deadpool will be released in theaters on December 12 for a limited engagement that concludes on Christmas Eve.

While Steve Rogers donned a more disheveled version of his traditional costume in the film, new concept art reveals that the creative team behind the project initially considered alternate designs for the suit and shield, some of which pay tribute to the U.S. Agent and the Super Soldier outfits in the comics.
