‘Fantastic Four’, ‘Solo’, ‘X-Men’ Films Heading To Disney Plus This Summer

X-Men, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and X-Men: Apocalypse will hit the streaming service throughout the summer.

Disney Plus will soon become the streaming home for Solo: A Star Wars Story, the 2005 Fantastic Four, and 3 of the most popular X-Men films.

Disney Plus has established itself as the go-to streaming service for geeks with every interest. Not only does the Disney backed streaming service have childhood animated and live-action classics but it also boasts a selection of picks from some of the world’s finest franchises like Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Disney Plus had almost all of the Disney catalog under its belt during its launch late last year, there were some notable omission such as select Fox films like Fantastic Four and X-Men: Days of Future Past. The streaming service also didn’t have Solo: A Star Wars Story, a project that has gained a lot of love since its maligned debut.

With licencing deals with other streaming services expiring, Disney Plus will be bringing select key films into its catalog for the first time like X-Men, X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, the first Fantastic Four, and Solo: A Star Wars Story onto the service for those late summer movie nights. July 1o will see X-Men: Days of Future Past and Solo: A Star Wars Story gracing the streaming service. X-Men: Apocalypse will hit Disney Plus on July 17. On August 7, fans can finally revisit the first X-Men film that started it all. Finally, August 28 will be the debut for the first Fantastic Four film starring Chris Evans.

Disney Plus will continue to boast new additions like these throughout the year as many of the licencing deals conducted by Fox and Disney should be expiring. Just recently, Avengers: Infinity War landed on Disney Plus, making it the final Avengers movie to arrive on the service. Josh Trank’s Fantastic Four also joined the streaming service a few short weeks ago. With Solo arriving soon on the streaming service, Disney Plus will be able to boast that it has the entire Star Wars franchise under its belt.

The last film in the Fox/X-Men franchise was Dark Phoenix. Here is the synopsis for the film:

This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX. During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all. Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet. The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet — one of their own.

Written and directed by Simon Kinberg, X-Men: Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is now available on Digital HD, 4k Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of the X-Men in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more great video content!
