Finn Wittrock To Play Guy Gardner In HBO Max’s Green Lantern Series

He's the first actor to join the live-action series.

The Green Lantern series for HBO Max has found its Guy Gardner in American Horror Story alum Finn Wittrock.

It’s been quite some time since there’s been news about the Green Lantern series on HBO Max, but news has finally arrived that American Horror Story star Finn Wittrock has joined the project as the first live-action version of Guy Gardner. The hero was originally debuted back in 1968 during Green Lantern #59 before being reimagined in the 1980s into a jingoistic, ultra-masculine member of the intergalactic police force.

As per Variety, Finn Wittrock is the first actor to join HBO Max’s Green Lantern series, but Guy Gardner won’t be the only ring-slinger to appear in the live-action show. The report also says that the Geoff Johns-produced story will span decades with the original Lantern from 1941, Alan Scott, making an appearance at some point as well as the alien hero Bree Jarta. We already know that it will also include So far, no other stars aside from Finn Wittrock have been confirmed for the HBO Max project. The report also confirmed that the series will be made up of 10 one-hour long episodes.

HBO Max’s Green Lantern series will span several decades and focus on the origins of two Emerald Knights, with classic comic book villain Sinestro appearing as well. In addition, HBO Max is developing a Strange Adventures DC anthology series and a DC Super Hero High show from Elizabeth Banks. News of the Green Lantern series arrived shortly after reports of HBO Max planning to produce DC projects with budgets on par with those of feature films.
