Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Disney Lucasfilm

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is set to premiere on May 18 at the Cannes Film Festival. A special first look clip has been revealed ahead of its premiere at the event.

The legend of Indiana Jones is finally set to come to a close when The Dial of Destiny releases in theaters next month. The film will have an early premiere tomorrow at Cannes Film Festival, but before it does, a first clip has been released showing Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones chasing down Mads Mikkelsen’s Jürgen Voller with his goddaughter Helena Shaw, played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The full clip can be seen below:

While Indiana Jones still has one story left to tell, Steven Spielberg has left the franchise in the hands of a new director, trusting Logan director James Mangold to close out Indy’s Legacy. Fans will find out tomorrow if Mangold can live up to the legacy of one of Harrison Ford’s most iconic roles, or if this film will simply be another Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

The future of Indiana Jones

In addition to Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Disney and Lucasfilm are also developing a new series set within the same world as the films. The series is being envisioned as a prequel to 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark, with a young version of Abner Ravenwood taking on a central role. Abner is the father of Karen Allen’s Marion Ravenwood and the mentor of Indiana Jones.

If the television series ends up moving forward, the Indiana Jones franchise would be returning to the small screen for the first time since the 1990s. Indy was previously the face of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles on ABC, as well as four television specials from the Family Channel, the network that is now known as Freeform. Harrison Ford made an apppearance in one episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, which also starred Sean Patrick Flanery, Corey Carrier and George Hall, with the four actors playing the titular hero across various stages of his life.

Directed by James Mangold, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny also stars Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Toby Jones. Mangold co-wrote the script alongside Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is currently slated to hit theaters on June 30, 2023. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the movie and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
