‘The Flash’ Name Drops One Of Batman’s Most Iconic Villains

Flash Batman DC Comics CWThe latest episode of The Flash referenced one of Batman’s most iconic villains by name.

Caitlin Snow’s extensive search for her missing father – who was presumed dead until she started receiving cryptic messages from her dad – culminated with her discovering him hiding in a Tannhauser facility. After reuniting with his daughter and being taken to S.T.A.R. Labs, Thomas Snow explained that the facility he was trapped in was where he attempted to develop a form of cryo-therapy to cure himself after being diagnosed with ALS. During the conversation, Thomas Snow mentioned that he consulted with other scientists during his research, including Louise Lincoln and Victor Fries.

While Louise Lincoln is the name of the character who took on the Killer Frost name before Caitlin Snow in the comics, fans are more likely to recognize Victor Fries as the true name of the iconic Batman villain Mr. Freeze. In the comics, Victor Fries tried to save his terminally ill wife using cryogenics only to have his body temperature being fatally lowered in a laboratory accident. As a result, Victor was forced to wear a cryogenic suit in order to stay alive and frequently confronted Batman as the freeze gun-wielding  Mr. Freeze as he continued to search for a cure to save his wife.
