Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot confirmed reports that Joss Whedon threatened her career during reshoots on Justice League.

We now live in a post-Zack Snyder’s Justice League world, and while fans that rallied for the Snyder Cut to be released are happy to see the director’s creative vision restored on HBO Max, there are still many discussions over the tumultuous reshoots that were helmed by Avengers director Joss Whedon after Zack Snyder departed the project following a family tragedy. One of the more eye-opening tidbits revolves around a clash between Joss Whedon and Diana Prince herself, Gal Gadot.

Gal Gadot was interviewed by Israeli outlet N12 where she confirmed that tensions were so high on the Justice League reshoots that Joss Whedon threatened the trajectory of her career, which was launching into the stratosphere in 2017 when the first standalone Wonder Woman movie hit theaters to critical and commercial success:

“He kind of threatened my career and said if I did something, he would make my career miserable and I just took care of it instead.”

According to previous reports, Gal Gadot took this information regarding Joss Whedon to the higher-ups at Warner Bros. which potentially led to the Avengers director exiting from his proposed Batgirl film that he was developing at the time.

Gal Gadot is not the only person in the Justice League cast that has been public with her issues with Joss Whedon during the reshoots. Cyborg star Ray Fisher remains the most prominent figure in the public eye regarding the tumultuous production of Justice League after he came out in 2020 alleging that Joss Whedon was “gross, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable” during reshoots. Gal Gadot and Aquaman star Jason Momoa among others have come out in support of Ray Fisher to corroborate his claims against Joss Whedon.

Here is the synopsis for Zack Snyder’s Justice League:

“In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.”

Zack Snyder’s Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons and Ciarán Hinds.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League cut is now available on HBO Max. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Gal Gadot, Joss Whedon and the DC Extended Universe, and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
