Black Mirror‘s Sarah Abbott is reportedly in the running for the lead role of Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters sequel.
It seems that things are full speed ahead for Jason Reitman’s upcoming Ghostbusters film, which will be set in the continuity of the original films. While some of the original crew but not all, is set to return, there’s a new player in town in the form of Black Mirror actress Sarah Abbott. Courtesy of Christopher Marc over at HN Entertainment, it’s being reported that actress Sarah Abbott, who you may have seen in programs like the aforementioned Black Mirror or The InBetween, is auditioning for the lead role in the Ghostbusters film. The story of the upcoming sequel has rumored to be focusing on a new, much younger set of heroes than what fans of the franchise have seen in the previous films.
Based on the audition tapes acquired by HN Entertainment, it appears that Sarah Abbott is vying for the awkward science-girl type who has trouble fitting in. More than that, she uses humor to help her socially awkward situations. Fans might notice that this character description is very Peter Parker-ish. In addition, DanielRPK recently chimed in and reported that Sarah Abbott will be playing the main character of this Ghostbusters film. Check out the report in the post below.
That character was at the top of the list on the breadown, meaning she's the main character of the film.
