Giancarlo Esposito recently discussed working on The Mandalorian season two, revealing he broke three darksabers during filming.
After the dramatic reveal that Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon has the legendary darksaber, fans have been wondering who he’ll end up duelling in The Mandalorian season two. And with the recent casting news that Rosario Dawson is joining the series as Ahsoka Tano – it seems likely that the pair will end up fighting at some point in The Mandalorian. But according to Giancarlo Esposito, learning to fight with the darksaber has been difficult.
In an interview with IMDB, Giancarlo Esposito explained that his darksaber skills are getting better, but that he’s hit himself several times already while filming. The Mandalorian star also mentioned that there’s a pressure on him to be an expert with it because “I’m the bad ass”. He went on to reveal that he’s broken three darksabers so far, which implies that he has some heavy duty fight scenes in The Mandalorian season two. Take a look at what Giancarlo Esposito had to say about the darksaber below.
“I’m decent. I’m getting better. But you have to respect the power of it, the energy of it. It’s long, dude. I’ve bopped myself three times already. Pop in the head, I’m like oh my God, what do I do? I start laughing. People look at me, they want me to be the expert right off the bat, because I’m the bad ass. But you know what? It takes practice. So we have long ones, we have short ones. Because sometimes they have to put it in. And guess what? I can say this? I can say it, I can say it. I’m going through it in my head, spoilers, blah blah blah. I can say it. I’ve broken three of those bad boys.”
