Giancarlo Esposito Becomes Mr. Freeze For Robert Pattinson’s ‘The Batman’ In New Fan Art

Mr Freeze Giancarlo Esposito Robert Pattinson The Batman

A brand new concept design for Robert Pattinson’s The Batman imagines Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian star Giancarlo Esposito as the next Mr. Freeze.

One DC Comics villain that we haven’t seen on silver screen since Batman and Robin is Mr. Freeze, one of Batman’s most outlandish yet tortured characters. If done right, the character of Victor Fries could easily be one of the best live-action Batman villains of all-time. While we likely won’t be seeing Mr. Freeze in Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, a digital artist known as ApexForm on Instagram recently shared artwork that imagines Giancarlo Esposito as the iconic character.

It’s actually quite uncanny how much Giancarlo Esposito looks like Mr. Freeze, especially the comic renditions of the Batman character. Robert Pattinson’s The Batman is said to be much a darker take on the Caped Crusader, which means that Esposito is the perfect man for the job as some of his career highlights have seen him playing no-nonsense villains. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s take on Mr. Freeze from Batman and Robin is still ridiculed to this day, with his ice puns a continued subject of mockery. The villain desperately needs a more subtle and subdued actor at the helm, and Esposito would be a great fit for the role. Hopefully, we’ll one day get to see him take on the role of Mr. Freeze in Pattinson’s The Batman trilogy.

Full plot details on The Batman are being kept under wraps, but we know that the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and features a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that includes Catwoman, The Penguin, and The Riddler. Following the Dark Knight during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector, the film will also make use of the hero’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous live-action adaptations. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as Batman.

Directed by Matt Reeves from a script he co-wrote with Mattson Tomlin, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

The Batman is currently set to hit theaters on October 1, 2021. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on Robert Pattinson and Giancarlo Esposito and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
