Gina Prince-Bythewood recently offered an update on Sony’s Silver & Black and revealed that the film could become a Disney Plus series.
With the success of Venom, Sony is going all in on their own Marvel Cinematic Universe with Morbius, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and other projects for both film and television. One Sony-Marvel project that has been in the works for sometime has been Silver & Black, a team-up film with Silver Sable and Black Cat.
Gina Prince-Bythewood was hired to write and direct the Silver & Black film at one point, but it was also considered at one point that the film be split into two-parts. Now, it sounds like Silver Sable and Black Cat could be explored in a potential series for Disney Plus. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Prince-Bythewood has this to say about Silver & Black:
“(Laughs.)That’s a book! Things are the status quo on my side. I really love that project, and I do hope it can still happen in some way. It keeps going through different thoughts. First, it was going to be the two of them, and then the decision was made to separate the two. Now, there’s a thought of “Hey, maybe we put it on Disney+ as a limited series,” but I loved it more as a film with the two of them. So, my hope is that one day it can still happen.”

Here is the official synopsis for Sony’s next Marvel film, Morbius:
One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.
Directed Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Morbius stars Jared Leto as the lead anti-hero, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project with Lucas Foster while Palak Patel will oversee for Sony.
Morbius is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on March 19, 2021. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel!
