This has led many comic book fans to begin speculating what role the Top Gun: Maverick actor could play in the Marvel or DC Universe. The most popular idea, and now most likely, is that Powell would be playing the next incarnation of Batman.
At first, fans believed this was a pipedream. However, following a record-breaking weekend for his newest film Twisters, the possibility of him joining the DC Universe is more likely than ever. Glen Powell recently followed Superman stars David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan on Instagram, as well as DC Studios co-chair James Gunn and Batman reboot director Andy Muschietti.
Is Glen Powell Playing Batman In The DC Universe?
This wouldn’t be the first time Glen Powell has been associated with Batman. During a recent interview leading up to the release of Twisters, the actor was asked if he’d ever be interested in joining the DC Universe. Powell admitted that, while he isn’t itching to don tights and spandex, he’d love to take on the role of Batman if ever given the chance.
It’s possible that Glen Powell and David Corenswet had conversations about the DC Universe on the set of Twisters. Now that the box office has proven that Powell can carry almost any film he stars in, the actor may finally be in official talks to play Batman, hence the recent Instagram activity.
