Grant Gustin is reportedly close to signing a new deal to return as The Flash for another season.
The Flash is currently in the middle of its eighth season of the series, which kicked off with the Armageddon event. Several key cast members have departed the series recently, which has led to some discussion on how long Grant Gustin’s The Flash will last, especially with the potential sale of The CW looming.
Another major factor regarding the fate of the show’s continuation is Grant Gustin’s current contract ending after The Flash season eight. According to TV Line, Gustin will sign a new one-year deal, leading to the ninth season of The CW series.
Deadline adds Grant Gustin declined a multi-year deal but will still receive a significant raise, earning $200k per episode and limiting his work to 15 episodes. Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, and Danielle Panabaker recently signed new deals for The Flash, but it’s unknown if that will cover a potential ninth season.
You can read the premise for The Flash‘s season eight premiere below:
“A powerful alien threat arrives on Earth under mysterious circumstances and Barry (Grant Gustin), Iris (Candice Patton) and the rest of Team Flash are pushed to their limits in a desperate battle to save the world.
