Is Grant Gustin officially back as The Flash? The actor sets the record straight as fans speculate about his return as the beloved Scarlet Speedster.
The 2010s were an odd time for the DC Universe. The franchise was floundering on the big screen, which left the CW’s Arrowverse as the de facto version of the characters in the eyes of many fans. And while the universe may have started with Stephen Amell’s Arrow, no actor is more heavily associated with it than Grant Gustin’s version of The Flash.
Ever since the show ended (and, frankly, even before), fans have been begging to see Grant Gustin return as The Flash on the silver screen. And while the new DC Universe is taking pains to distance itself from the franchise’s old actors, the fact that they kept around some actors such as John Cena’s Peacemaker gave fans hope. Hope exemplified by a recent post showing Gustin with the character’s golden blonde hair.

Is Grant Gustin Back As The Flash
Of course, the internet exploded with the idea that Grant Gustin could return as The Flash, especially as the next entry in the DC Universe – Man of Tomorrow – is set to start filming in the next few months. However, the actor quickly took to social media to quash the speculation, confirming that he dyed his hair for a completely separate project.
“As anyone that asks me knows, I will always welcome the opportunity to play The Flash again. Having said that, my hair is long and blonde for a project that has nothing to do with The Flash or any other superhero.”
Given that Grant Gustin only recently ended his decade-long run as The Flash, it makes sense that he wouldn’t make a return to the mantle quite so soon. And given Man of Tomorrow already has ties to the older DC Universe with characters like Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller, adding in someone from yet ANOTHR continuity could be more trouble than its worth.
