With the first episode of The Flash season nine now behind us, The CW has released a stunning enseble poster for the Arrowverse series. The poster shows Grant Gustin suited up as the titular DC Comics hero alongside the supporting cast of the series. You can check out the poster below.
The final season of The Flash is set to bring closure to the story of one of the most iconic and beloved characters in the Arrowverse. The series, which first premiered in 2014, has been a staple of the CW network and has been widely praised for its action sequences and engaging character arcs along with its witty and heartfelt storytelling.
The Flash season nine consists of thirteen episodes instead of its usual twenty-plus installments. The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Eric Wallace, Sarah Schechter, Sam Chalsen and Jonathan Butler. Its production is based in Vancouver, Canada.
The storyline of The Flash season nine
The official The Flash season nine synopsis reads as follows: “After defeating the Reverse Flash once and for all, the ninth season of THE FLASH picks up one week later following their epic battle, and Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton) are reconnecting and growing closer than ever before. But when a deadly group of Rogues descend on Central City led by a powerful new threat, The Flash and his team—Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker), Meta-Empath Cecile Horton (Danielle Nicolet), the light-powered meta Allegra Garcia (Kayla Compton), brilliant tech-nerd Chester P. Runk (Brandon McKnight), and reformed cryogenics thief Mark Blaine (Jon Cor)—must once again defy impossible odds to save the day. But as The Rogues are defeated, a deadly new adversary rises to challenge Barry Allen’s heroic legacy. And in their greatest battle yet, Barry and Team Flash will be pushed to their limits, in order to save Central City one last time.”
The Flash season nine features several core cast members, including Grant Gustin Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Danielle Nicolet, Kayla Compton and Brandon McKnight. The series has also recruited Arrowverse veterans Javicia Leslie and Nicole Maines, though details about their roles are being kept under wraps.
