‘The Flash’ Season Six Premiere Synopsis Teases Biggest Threat Yet

The CW has released an official synopsis for the sixth season of The Flash and it teases the show’s biggest threat yet for Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen.

The Flash season six premieres next month and we’re starting to become privy to some new details. After the reveal of The Flash’s new costume showed off a new cowl that brought back the classic chinstrap cowl for Grant Gustin, fans have been eagerly awaiting some new details on the season six premiere. That wait has come to an end as The CW has dropped the synopsis for the season six premiere of The Flash and it hints at the greatest threat Grant Gustin and his team have ever faced.

SEASON PREMIERE – While Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris (Candice Patton) deal with the heartbreaking loss of their daughter, Nora, the team faces their greatest threat yet — one that threatens to destroy all of Central City. Meanwhile, Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) has a brush with death that results in an unexpected new dynamic that will change her relationship with Caitlin forever. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Eric Wallace & Kelly Wheeler.

Full details on the sixth season of the Grant Gustin series are being kept under lock and key, though Heroes alum Sendhil Ramamurthy has joined the cast as DC Comics villain Bloodwork. In the comics, Bloodwork is a Central City morgue employee and hemophiliac who developed the ability to transform his flesh into blood-like physiology after experimenting with blood properties. The new season has also been teased to include an antagonist who will be the most personal villain Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen has faced since Eobard Thawne.

Grant Gustin’s The Flash will also lead into The CW’s adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earths and the back-half of the upcoming season will deal with the fallout from the five-part crossover event. With Arrow coming to an end this fall after concluding its eight-episode final season, The Flash will also become The CW’s main DC Comics drama and Grant Gustin will seemingly lead the other Arrowverse superheroes forward.

DC Universe Debuts ‘Doom Patrol’ Character Posters

Doom PatrolAlong with the premiere of the first teaser for Doom Patrol, DC Universe also debuted a collection of character posters for each of the members of perhaps the strangest team of characters to be adapted in live-action form for DC Comics.

In particular, these new character posters highlight Timothy Dalton's The Chief, Diane Guerrero's Crazy Jane, Joivan Wade's Cyborg, April Bowlby's Elasti-Woman, Matt Bomer's Negative Man and Brendan Fraser's Robotman. These posters each follow unique designs that reflect the nature of each character and tease unique personalities amongst the group as well.
