Is Norman Osborn the key to Spider-Man: Brand New Day? A new Marvel rumor revolves around the Green Goblin’s potential role in the upcoming movie.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the start of a new era for the MCU’s wall-crawler. However, it’s also the start of the end for Tom Holland’s time as the hero. And while the rumor mill has been too busy tangling itself into knots over this movie to give much useful information about the future, early reports suggest that there are plans for iconic villains like Norman Osborn’s Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus to play a role in the trilogy.
This has led many to wonder if Norman Osborn might be teased in Spider-Man: Brand New Day to set up his eventual transformation into the Green Goblin. Perhaps the biggest speculation point for this is that Marvel Studios brought Star Wars breakout Eman Esfandi into the MCU to play Mary Jane’s unnamed boyfriend, leading some to believe that he could be playing Harry Osborn.
Is The Green Goblin In Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
Sadly, it seems as though the Green Goblin may not be as high on the priority list of the MCU as many fans were led to believe. According to a rumor from Alex Perez at the Cosmic Circus, neither Norman Osborn nor Oscorp will be mentioned in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, all but confirming the villain’s absence from the movie.
Of course, just because Norman Osborn doesn’t appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day doesn’t mean he’s banned from the trilogy. It’s also possible that Marvel is simply hiding their Green Goblin teases where the rumor mill can’t find them, saving the eleventh-hour reveal of Oscorp for a truly earth-shaking bombshell at the end of the film.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into theaters July 31st, 2026. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding Spider-Man’s Marvel Cinematic Universe future!
